No! Since the Emsella treatments are noninvasive, there’s no cutting, no blood, and no pain! You may feel some tingling during your sessions and some soreness for a few hours afterward, but the therapy isn’t painful. That means there’s no recovery period, either, and you can immediately get back to your daily life!

How Emsella Works
When you come in for your Emsella treatment sessions, you’ll be directed to sit on our Emsella chair. Once you’re sitting on the device, your provider will begin the treatment.
Emsella harnesses electromagnetic energy to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles inside our bodies. The electricity forces the muscles to contract, building them up. Once your muscles have been strengthened, they will be better prepared to combat incontinence, ED, and more.
What to Expect
The Emsella Process
step 1
The Emsella process begins with your consultation. Reach out to Johns Creek Primary Care to schedule your appointment. You’ll meet with one of our providers to discuss your goals for treatment and get answers to any questions you might have. Once we’ve finished with your examination, we’ll determine if Emsella is right for you. If it is, we’ll get you scheduled for your first treatment with Emsella in Johns Creek.
step 2
Each Emsella session lasts about 30 minutes. For best results, most patients need 6 sessions spread out over a few weeks. You’ll work with our staff to schedule your appointments, and then you just have to show up. We’ll direct you to the Emsella chair and begin treatment. Feel free to bring a book or simply relax during your sessions. You may feel some soreness after each treatment, but you’ll also begin to experience results fairly quickly.
step 3
You may notice some improvements after just one Emsella session, but you will continue to improve with each subsequent treatment. Emsella results last for about 1 year, so you may need to schedule Emsella with us again over time if your symptoms begin to return. There’s no recovery time needed after your treatment, so you’re free to enjoy feeling renewed and confident again thanks to Emsella!

Yes, Emsella therapy really strengthens your pelvic floor muscles, treating incontinence as a result. Clinical studies have shown that 95% of patients have reported improvements thanks to Emsella.
The average patient reports improved resistance to incontinence for around 7 to 8 months, but some patients have seen improvement for up to a year. Regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle can help prolong your results even more!
If you are a man or woman who suffers from incontinence, ED, or other sexual health difficulties, you may be a candidate for Emsella. Contact us to schedule a consultation, and we will discuss your candidacy together. You may be ineligible if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have had recent surgery in the area. If Emsella isn’t a good fit for you, we’ll work with you to help you find a suitable alternative.
Side effects of Emsella may include soreness or redness, muscle pain, joint or tendon pain, and muscle spasms around the treatment area. However, most patients report that these symptoms typically go away soon after the treatment ends.
