Your screening appointment itself shouldn’t hurt at all! The procedure is noninvasive and painless. Before the screening, you may be given some special eye drops that will dilate your eyes for several hours. After the test, your eyes will be sensitive to light. During this time, you may experience some discomfort.
We recommend that you wear sunglasses and avoid going outside if possible. You will also be unable to drive for several hours due to blurry vision caused by the eye drops. These symptoms will gradually dissipate over time.
